While Jesus was seated on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately and asked the same questions we might be asking:

Tell Us, When Will These Things be? And What Will Be The Sign of Your Coming And of The End of The Age? The first words out of His mouth were, “Be careful that no one misleads you....” (Matthew 24:4).

He then identified a sequence of signs and assured His disciples that these were just the beginning of sorrows or birth pains:
• Wars, famines, earthquakes and pestilences
• Worldwide persecution of Christians
• Apostasy and betrayal among Christians
• False prophets will rise up and deceive many
• Lawlessness will abound and the love of many will wax cold.
• Society will be like The Days of Noah and Lot

Even though these signs will characterize the end of the age, Jesus assured His disciples that the sign of the end would be that “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

This gospel is to be preached to every creature and disciples made of every nation. And the term “as a witness to all nations” indicates that this present age will not end until there is at least one representative from every ethnic group, nation, people, tribe, and language, who has received the free gift of salvation offered through Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

William Booth (1829–1912), the founder of the Salvation Army, prophesied that by the end of the twentieth century, the following dangers would confront the church and ultimately Western society:
Christianity without Christ, religion without the Holy Spirit, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell. And that’s exactly where we find ourselves today.

Will You not Revive us again, that Your People may rejoice in You? (Psalm 85:6)
