A Sinless Man Shall be Born

The Lord God Almighty Who created us is aware that we have a sin problem and that is why He requires blood sacrifice. In fact according to the Bible almost everything is purified with blood; indeed, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness or remission of sins. (Hebrews 9:22)

Throughout the Old Testament, the priests sacrificed the blood of bulls, goats and even turtledoves. In some countries today, people still offer blood sacrifice. But the animal and bird blood could never wash away sin on a permanent basis, but merely temporarily cover sin.

The Old Testament Passover Lamb, which is a type of Christ, was examined for 72 defects. The true Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, was absolutely without fault.

That is why Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people I find no fault in this man.  The Saviour’s full Name with titles is the: Lord-The God part Jesus- Yeshua the Man part Christ-the anointed one-the promised Messiah.

Throughout His life He showed us both sides of His deity. His humanity is reflected in statements that He was weary, impatient, sorrowful, appreciative and loving.  Also the human side of Him was subject to temptation, remember temptation is not sin.

For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. (Hebrew 4:15)

The Bible also tells us He learned active special obedience through His sufferings. (See Hebrews 5:7-8)

Was Mary the Mother of God?

God created a special sinless blood in a very special and involved manner. 800 years before Christ, the Old Testament prophet Isaiah predicted that: Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us). (Isaiah 7:14 AMP)

Mary was a young Jewish virgin girl aged about 14 years when the angel Gabriel visited her. She was born of normal parents and there nothing in the Bible that suggests she was born without sin.

As a matter of fact we have two Biblical texts, confirming that she was a normal person, prone to sin, just like everyone of us. “And Mary said, My soul magnifies and extols the Lord, And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:46-47)

In the Old Testament, the rules provided for a Jewish lady after giving birth to a son or a daughter was:

When the days of her purifying are completed, whether for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a year old for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering to the door of the Tent of Meeting to the priest; and he shall offer it before the Lord and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who has borne a male or a female child. (Leviticus 12:6-7)

Did Mary observe this law as required in the Old Testament? The Gospel of Luke tells us that she fulfilled this law:

Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so his parents took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. The law of the Lord says, “If a woman’s first child is a boy, he must be dedicated to the LORD.”So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of the Lord—“either a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.” (Luke 2:22-24)

God’s plan  to save mankind was so ingenious that to fiddle with it and alter one point, would destroy the end result. The life principle which flowed in the veins of this Child Jesus, was a sinless blood. Our blood is all sinful. Even the blood of Mary the mother Jesus was sinful. Why? The medical profession tells us that the mother’s blood does not pass the placenta.

Therefore had Mary’s sinful blood flowed in Jesus’ veins, there would be no salvation. She is described as a chosen human vessel to incubate God’s Son, and bring Him into the world.

It was human blood-as the life of heaven is not blood but the spirit; His DNA was made up of earthly chromosomes from his earthly mother and perfectly created chromosomes from His heavenly Father. Therefore our Lord Jesus Christ was fully human and yet fully divine.

Jesus Himself prophetically tells us that: Sacrifices and offerings You have not desired, but instead You have made ready a body for Me…… Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God—to fulfil what is written of Me in the volume of the Book. (Hebrews 10:5-7)

Was Mary therefore the Mother of God? The answer is an emphatic No! God was there before mothers were created. The Bible tells us, “God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26 AMP)  

Mary was chosen by God to the woman who would bring Yeshua into the word to fulfil His divine mission of salvation of all humanity.

The angel said to her that you will become pregnant after the Holy Spirit has come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you like a shining crowd; and so the holy (pure, sinless) Thing (Offspring) which shall be born of you will be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:30-33)

Mary believed these words and acknowledged her role when she cried out with a loud cry, and then exclaimed:

My soul magnifies and extols the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has looked upon the low station and humiliation of His handmaiden. For behold, from now on all generations of all ages will call me blessed and declare me happy and to be envied! For He Who is almighty has done great things for me—and holy is His name to be venerated in His purity, majesty and glory!

And His mercy (His compassion and kindness toward the miserable and afflicted) is on those who fear Him with godly reverence, from generation to generation and age to age. He has shown strength and made might with His arm; He has scattered the proud and haughty in and by the imagination and purpose and designs of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of low degree.

He has filled and satisfied the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty-handed without a gift. He has laid hold on His servant Israel to help him, to espouse his cause, in remembrance of His mercy, even as He promised to our forefathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever. (Luke 1:44-55 AMP)

So Mary was the privileged blessed woman who conceived of the Holy Spirit and gave birth to the man part of the Word of God. That is why the angel spoke to Mary in the future tense when he said: You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. (Luke 1:31)

This means there was no Jesus in the Old Testament. It was only God and His Holy Word – the Torah. At a certain time in history and according to John’s gospel, Jesus became the essence of God’s revelation as He lived in this world: 

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God…. And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. (John 1:1-2; 14 AMP)

In a nutshell, at a particular time in history, God in His wisdom, placed a human body on His Word, placed special sinless blood in His veins and then allowed a situation to develop on the cross when that special blood was shed for us. His Name is called Jesus-Yeshua which in Hebrew means Saviour. Therefore, in God’s divine plan, Jesus could not be poisoned to death or strangled.

Crucifixion was the most horrible, excruciating death a man could die, yet it perfectly fulfilled God’s requirements. The blood of Yeshua was shed. There is therefore now remission and forgiveness of sin for all of us who humble ourselves with repentance, and faith towards God.

Jesus Christ is the divine, eternal Son of God, who became a member of the human race by a virgin birth. He led a sinless life, died on the cross as a propitiatory sacrifice for the sins of humanity, was buried, and rose again in bodily form from the grave on the third day.

He ascended into heaven, whence He will return to earth in person to judge the living and the dead. Everyone who repents of sin and trusts in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ receives forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You died for my sins, that You were buried, and that You rose again on the third day. I now repent of my sins and come to You for mercy and forgiveness.

By faith in Your promise, I receive You personally as my Savior and confess You as my Lord. Come into my heart. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Give me eternal life and make me a child of God. Amen.
